Before Use

As a natural product, Spider Wood may float initially and should be soaked or weighted down until it becomes waterlogged. Some pieces may develop a harmless white biofilm during the first few weeks underwater. This is a normal part of the curing process and is readily eaten by shrimp, snails, and many fish, or it will disappear naturally over time. Spider Wood typically releases very little tannin compared to many other types of driftwood.
