Unlike many wood-eating plecos, Leporacanthicus species are more carnivorous and require a protein-rich diet consisting of sinking carnivore pellets, shrimp-based foods, frozen bloodworms, mysis shrimp, and other high-quality prepared foods. Occasional vegetable matter can also be offered as part of a varied diet.
