Bolivian Rams are known for their calm nature and are well-suited to community aquariums with other peaceful fish. They spend much of their time exploring the lower and middle levels of the aquarium, sifting through the substrate in search of food and interacting with their surroundings. Their expressive behavior and curious disposition make them a favorite among freshwater hobbyists.

These dwarf cichlids thrive in well-maintained aquariums with soft substrate, driftwood, rocks, and plenty of plants or hiding places.
